Hey Rossland, Trail, Castlegar and the rest of the Kootenays, the Rossland Skatepark Association (RSA) is inviting you to an open house meeting regarding the future planning of a skateboard park in town.

Everyone is welcome to the Rossland Miners Hall on Apr. 6 from 7-9 p.m.

We will introduce ourselves, present our mission statement, discuss progress to date and what the next steps are in the park planning process.

Fundraising events, volunteer efforts, how you can get involved and stay informed along with other exciting announcements will be discussed.

We want to include the public on every aspect with bringing a skateboard park to Rossland.

This will be a community park so we need your input and help.

We would like to begin a series of monthly meetings for everyone who would like to get more involved. They will be held on the first Tuesday of every month beginning May 4 at the Rossland Library from 6-8:30 p.m.

We would also like to announce our plans to bring the 2010 Kootenay Skateboard Series (KSS) to Rossland in June. The KSS is bringing together Kootenay Skateboarders with events in other locations including Salmo, Slocan Valley, Kaslo, Nelson, Invermere, Castlegar.

This event will be a fundraiser for the skateboard park initiative in town and also a chance for the RSA and the KSS to show the positive aspects of skateboarding to the community of Rossland.
