Why A Skatepark In Rossland
| ABOUT - RSA |
We want a skatepark for the kids, so they have a place to practice their sport safely and legally.
One City Administrator in a town that recently built a skatepark put it nicely: if kids were forced to play baseball in the street, we’d build a diamond for them without thinking twice.
A skatepark promotes positive physical activity and creative thinking among the youth. Instead of kids practicing their tricks in prohibited locations a skateboard park can be established in a location that is designated, legal and part of the community.
There are further added benefits it would bring to Rossland. A world-class skatepark would be one more thing to add to the list of attractions for people considering a vacation or moving here.
A Skateboard park is an investment in the community. It will be an attraction for riders from all over Canada and the world to stop in town and give it a try. A unique park can stand out on the world stage and gain a reputation among the skateboarding community and a draw for tourism. More and more, skateparks are becoming just a normal part of civic infrastructure and communities around the world
Skateparks have recently been built in a number of towns around the Kootenays – Kaslo, Castlegar, Slocan City, Grand Forks – and the experience of those parks and others across North America is extremely positive.
Rossland is overdue, lets make it work!
